Quality Improvement Conference

The GI Quality Improvement (QI) conference is held quarterly and attended by gastroenterology and hepatology faculty, fellows, residents, students and staff. This conference focuses on enhancing patient outcomes by assessing avenues for improving quality of patient care and reducing adverse events. Cases from the last quarter are presented with evidence-based discussion and fellow participation. Special attention is paid to the development of an algorithmic and/or protocol-driven approach to minimize risk during endoscopic procedures. A brief presentation is done by one or more GI fellows pertinent to the cases discussed with supervision from the faculty member serving as the divisional quality improvement officer.
