Research Summary
I joined Dr. Christian Jobin’s lab as a graduate student in 2011 to study host-microbe interactions and the microbiota. My Ph.D. research focused on the impact of the microbiota on host immune responses in relation to intestinal inflammation and colorectal carcinogenesis. I utilize various models (bacteria, mice and zebrafish) and techniques (gnotobiotics, sequencing, microinjection/microgavage, immunohistochemistry, and qPCR) to study the immune response to intestinal microbes and the role of bacteria in colorectal cancer development.
