Research Profile

I have 30 years of experience in conducting Biomedical Research. I was involved in research on various inflammatory diseases and sensory mechanisms, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus Erythematous and mu-opioid receptor genes in an academic setting. I’ve worked in the corporate world for GlaxoWelcome developing a new medication (Lamivudine) for Hepatitis B and studying HBV mutation under drug pressure, and then for GlaxoSmithKline with a team looking for new applications of approved drugs on unexpected targets.

I joined Dr. Christian Jobin’s laboratory at UF in 2013. In this lab, I am in charge of a group of talented post-docs and a technician working on the influence of the microbiota on colon cancer and intestinal inflammation.
