About Aleksey A Novikov

I am a clinical assistant professor the University of Florida Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition and an interventional gastroenterologist with an interest in pancreaticobiliary malignancies. My practice is focused on patients with a variety of benign and malignant conditions of the pancreas and bile ducts. I offer endoscopic interventions for malignant pancreatic lesions as well as bile duct cancer. I treat chronic pancreatitis and provide guidance and screening procedures to patients with genetic mutations that predispose them to gastrointestinal malignancies. In addition to my focus, I treat a full range of general GI conditions.

I attended medical school at Brown University and completed my internal medicine internship and residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital. I stayed at Weill Cornell to complete clinical gastroenterology fellowship and then completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Interventional gastroenterology is a fairly new, and rapidly changing hybrid specialty that combines aspects of internal medicine, radiology, endoscopy, and surgical elements to treat patients. Its novelty, clinical advances, and therapeutic approach is what drew me to my specialty.

As a physician, I want my patients to understand that I care deeply for each one of them. In my practice, I strive to make patients feel better and live longer lives. I practice evidence-based medicine; however, I also seek to individualize my therapeutic approach per patient. I am also a researcher, dedicated to finding new ways to treat cancer and improve existing therapies.

When not practicing, I enjoy spending time with my three kids and a lovely wife. We enjoy exploring all that Florida has to offer.
